This fabric painting resulted from a RECYCLING effort and grease spots that wouldn't come out. Sweatshirts are very comfortable to wear, but aren't considered dressy enough to wear to work -- UNLESS a little "style" is added. Simple geometric patterns or variations on simple leaves can dress up a plain sweat shirt. These have been through the wash many times. Permanent fabric paints and magic marker last a long time. Some are over 10 years old. The glitter paints can add even more fun.
Fabric Painting - Green Leaf on Green Leaf Vine (green on green)

Monochrome tones are subtler and can give a really classy look sometimes. A lot depends on the color of the sweatshirt and the personality of the wearer.

Notice the grease spot on the dark green one [2nd leaf down on the right]? It's there, but almost looks like part of the design.

Fabric Painting - Burgundy Lace Flower Lace (on burgundy)

With leafs & flowers going over shoulder.

Higher contrast goes nicely with white blouse.

Fabric Painting - Flowers on Grey Flowers 1 (on light grey)

This one I used both the fabric paints with black permanent magic markers overlaid.

Fabric Painting - Seagreen Geo Seagreen Aztec

Subtle geometric on sea green using similar value tones. The glitter doesn't show up too well on these scans either but gives the pattern a nice subtle texture.

Simple geometric patterns are easy to do and can camoflage any number of grease spots easily!

Fabric Painting - Grey geo Aztec Diagonal (on lt grey)

Uses all pastel tones and keeps the darkers colors to a minimum. Tilting it to an angle and feathering the edges gives it a little spontaneity and imperfection.

Colors were chosen to work with the shirts known to be worn with this sweat shirt.
